Team 449

The release schedule for Team 449's alumni database software, which will be made available to other teams for them to use for their own homework, has been decided on. A fully function version will be available on Saturday, February 21^st. Version 2.0, which will require less human intervention in the search for alumni, will be available for download on Sunday, March 1st. After that, potential users will have the ability to take a snapshot of the software at any time, and download it.

Version 1.0 will have customizable fields, search and sort capabilities, and two different displays, depending on whether or not the user is logged in.

Version 2.0 has the additional ability to automatically contact alumni, and to attempt to find, given certain information, the email addresses of potential alumni. The latter feature may not appear, depending on how the development team feels about writing an automated stalker. In addition, it will be somewhat easier to install.

The software is still unnamed right now. It will probably be named after Team 449's robot, once a name is decided for the latter.

The software is written primarily in PHP, and uses MySQL to store its data.

All releases and snapshots will be licensed under the GNU GPL copyleft license Version 3.
