Q. Why should my team participate?
A. It’s an excellent opportunity for rookies to experience the excitement and rigor of build season without the pressure.
Q. Won’t this take a lot of time?
A. The idea is that completing a bot for this competition will replace your preseason training program, and there’s no pressure to do well at this competition, so your team should spend as much time as you see fit.
Q. What if we don’t have a completed robot?
A. Bring whatever you have – even a robot with no mechanisms can play defense and just the experience of competing is valuable for rookies. Additionally, you could just participate in the building part of the event and not the competition part. If your team chooses to do that, please email us so we can include your team in on the information.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Our team is planning to spend less than $120 on our entry, but the cost will vary based on what parts you already have. The entry fee is $100 per team.
Q. When will the rules be released?
A. The rules will be released onto our website on September 1st. Check back every Saturday after that for updates and clarifications.
Q. What are the game rules like?
A. Check out FRC Team 1540’s website (team1540.org/bunnybots/) for more information about last year’s game — we will be using their 2018 game rules.
Q. We aren’t an FRC team/we aren’t an FRC team yet, can we still participate?
A. Email us at email@example.com. We might be able to loan you parts, help you get set up, or work with you to use existing systems you have from other robotics competitions.
Q. I have a question that isn’t answered here?
A. Feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
